A passion for LIFE AND DESIGN
My name is Cortney Brown and I am a graphic designer, amateur photographer and fly fisherwoman. I grew up in Encinitas, California, surfing, exploring the coastline and eating tons of burritos.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Humboldt State University as well as a Management Certificate in Graphic Design from Emily Carr/ BCIT. I have traveled far and wide in the name of art, spending a summer in Greece studying ceramics and life drawing and a year in Spain studying international business, life drawing and Spanish.
Five years ago, after a whirlwind snowboarding trip to Whistler, BC, I fell in love with the Sea to Sky area and my fate was decided. As a great lover of the ocean and all of its critters it was only natural to start exploring the beautiful BC lakes and rivers. Fly fishing has taken me on some incredible adventures and provided endless inspiration for my photography and design.
I currently live in Squamish, BC, and spend every chance I get on the river dodging bald eagles and evading apex predators in search of wild trout and steelhead.
These days I am working as a Graphic Production Manager and freelancing on the side but I always find my way back to the waters edge. I look forward to many more adventures in the design world, big fish and the peace and clarity of mind that the river brings.
